Iconic Motorcycles of the World: Harley Davidson!

The very name Harley Davidson on HD as it is popularly known all over the world brings to our mind a picture of a heavy cruiser type bike with a beefy rider with shades, cool facial hair and an American bandana on his head! This is the symbolic picture of one of the greatest motorcycles in the world which has reached an iconic status today. Though there are other motorbike companies manufacturing cruiser bikes, HD is indeed an iconic brand. It evokes nostalgia and a sense of patriotism that perhaps no other bike can even try to emulate.

There are generations of such HD bikers who have kept their bikes as collectible items and this is that bike range that brought out the American ‘Chopper’ concept to the world. Harleys are known for their characteristic exhaust note and thump that cannot be challenged by even the quietest bikes of the world. There are bikes that are technologically and performance wise better than the Harleys but a bike enthusiast will choose a Harley any day over a superbike. Though these bikes are built for touring and cruising, these bikes have an amazing build and finish quality that makes it one of the best in the market. The emotion that floods your imagination with the ignition turned on is incomparable with even the fastest bike in the world!

Harleys as a Symbol of Biking as a Way of Life

Harleys are a symbol of muscular biking at its best; surprisingly, there are female fans of the same as well – and all over the world. Perhaps, the females couldn’t simply resist the masculine looks of the bikes at all! It has much to do with the nimble handling that the bike is capable of – it feels amazingly light even when cruising at the top rev ranges. It was not always like this as it took some time to gain this iconic status. Since its inception HDs have been facing stiff competition from Japanese manufactures and Italy as well. The Japanese bikes are technologically and speed wise better than the HDs any day but Harley Davidson decide to do what it did best – to make cruiser bikes. Thanks for their decision that today; we are being able to enjoy such bikes. The youth maybe more drawn towards faster bikes but HD riders are a different class altogether. There are associations, groups and forums on even the internet – no other bike has even come close to emulating this stuff!
